Invention Company Reviews

One of the best ways for us to be a great resource for inventors is to give our honest opinions about companies who purport to help inventors. Most invention companies have success rates below 1%. A few have success rates nearing or over 50%. The book, The Inventor Trap, has a short list of the best licensing agents with the highest licensing rates. The book also has an evaluation form that will allow you to accurately grade any company you're considering doing business with.

Below is a short list of invention promoters who have some of the WORST success rates. Our assessments of the below listed companies are based on published date and or other criteria including lack of any substantiated licensing deals that resulted a net profit to inventors, as well as from past complaints and independent research.

This list will continue to expand over time and is currently comprised of invention marketing companies who have licensing success rates that are estimated to be less than 1%. Such companies we give a grade of “F”.

The best licensing companies don't always charge a fee, or at least most of them offer a full contingency option, for ideas they feel have the greatest market potential.  They also reject most inventions submitted to them.

To find a successful licensing agent, see "The Recommends List" in chapter 7:  "Finding The Right Licensing Company", in the book, The Inventor Trap

If you're uncertain about a particular company, use the "Agent / Marketing Co. Worthiness Checklist" in Appendix E of "The Inventor Trap".
